Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?

If you’re interested in undergoing a breast lift with Dr. Stephens, you may be an excellent candidate. You will need to have a consultation with us to determine your candidacy. During your consultation, factors such as your overall health, medical history, cosmetic goals, and expectations will be discussed in order to determine if breast lift surgery is right for you.

  • Although breasts of any size can be lifted, smaller breasts that are experiencing sagging tend to be the most ideal for a breast lift.
  • As pregnancy and nursing can stretch the skin, women who are planning on having children are often advised to postpone this surgery.

Patient Testimonial

“After losing 130 lbs., I still didn’t feel good about myself because of all the excess skin I had. Dr. Stephens was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so thankful. Dr. Stephens and his amazing staff gave me back my self-confidence and made me feel beautiful again! I have never been treated so well. His OR staff was wonderful and made me feel safe. His nurse even hugged me while I was put to sleep! I had a tummy tuck, excess skin removal from arms, lipo, and a breast lift. I will never go anywhere else! Love Dr. Stephens and his staff!”

Breast Lift Surgical Details

Dr. Stephens performs breast lift in Baton Rouge with his patients under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Typically, an anchor-shaped incision is made from the location of the new nipple down to the crease beneath the breast — although in some cases, this incision pattern may be modified with fewer scars on the breast.

Excess skin is removed and the areola and nipple are placed higher on the breast for an elevated appearance. A breast lift can also reduce large areolas. While a breast lift can be performed on its own, it is often done in conjunction with breast augmentation to add more volume as well as improved shape.

What is Recovery Like?

During your breast lift recovery, it is common for the breasts to be swollen, bruised, and sore for a short while. You may need to wear bandages, gauze, and a surgical bra may to protect the new breast contours and cushion the chest as it heals. You can remove all of this after 48 hours and take a shower.

Dr. Stephens will advise you on how much time you should take off from work in order for your breasts to have adequate healing time. You will need to avoid strenuous activities for at least three weeks. We will provide you with post-surgical instructions to reduce the risk of infection at your incision sites.
